High quality health care is a basic human right. No American should be without health care and no woman should have to live without access to full reproductive freedom, including abortion. To realize these principles as a member of the 116th Congress, Gary will co-sponsor reintroduction of H.R.676 – Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act.
Re-configuring an industry that accounted for nearly one fifth of the American economy in 2015 won’t happen overnight. Gary will engage with constituents, other cosponsors, medical professionals, economists, and public policy experts to help design a steady yet ambitious transition to a single-payer health care system. This transition will provide quality healthcare for all, at substantially reduced cost to the nation, achieved while continuing to grow the economy and ensuring displaced workers can find new jobs.
As the world’s richest and most technologically advanced economy, we should expect no less.
