Black Lives Matter
On the anniversary of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination 50 years ago April 4th, I express my support for the immediate passage of H.R.40, the Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act. I also declare that, if H.R.40 does not pass in the current Congress, I will cosponsor its reintroduction in the 116th Congress if I am elected as the Representative for the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District.
I also endorse the Black Lives Matter Project Zero goals and commit, when in Congress, to help advance these through appropriate federal legislation.
Today, let America commit itself to fully accepting responsibility for past wrongs and to doing the hard but honest work needed to eliminate prejudice and achieve complete equality before another fifty years passes.
